Joe LaSpina, Owner
Owner, Joe LaSpina, is the light that keeps LaSpina Salon & Spa such an excellent place to visit.  Joe was born and raised in a salon family in Philadelphia, and naturally found his way.  At an age where most of us were trying to figure out what to do with our lives, Joe was a successful businessman owning his own salon, HairWorks, which soon became three.  After over a decade with HairWorks, Joe decided to move on, and with the opportunity to add a spa to the business, opened LaSpina Salon and Spa.

Joe’s years of experience have created an impressive portfolio of awards and honors, including the privilege of working for several years on the set of “Newhart” with star Mary Fran.  Joe has a true gift for finding you a new look and making sure it’s fabulous. 

Joe’s calm, confident demeanor is present throughout his salon, and both his clients and staff appreciate his energy. 

Lisa (Lee) Baldino: Lee has been in the salon industry for over 20 years, of which the last 5 have been with LaSpina Salon. Lee's chair is a good place to express yourself. Her passion is in helping you find the look you're searching for. She enjoys working with color and creating new looks while using different techniques.

Joanne Ezrah-Dorsey: Joanne Ezrah-Dorsey has been a cosmetologist for over 40 years.  Even with years of education and experience Joanne continues to pursue additional coursework to keep current on coloring and industry trends.  During her time as a salon owner she and her partner won an award for one of the top 100 salons in the country.  Joanne loves working with color and creating new looks.

Rita Hughes: Rita Hughes has been styling hair for over 15 years and licensed as a cosmetology teacher for over 12.  She specializes in multi-dimensional hair color, formal up-dos, and making her clients comfortable when they’re trying to find a new look.  Even with the busiest of days at LaSpina, Rita is thrilled to be here.  Rita and her husband have 4 children along with multiple pets, so Rita enjoys an upbeat, busy work environment.
 

Mandi Katherina: Lively and enthusiastic, Mandi Katherina is our newest addition to the LaSpina family.  She specializes in dimensional color, extensions, and wedding design; and has extensive training through Paul Mitchell.  Mandi says that her satisfaction comes from seeing her clients leave with a smile.

 

Nanci Katherina: Nanci Katherina began working in the salon industry in 1977.  With over 35 years of experience and extensive training in dimensional color, bonded extensions, permanent straightening, and wedding designs, she is confident, skilled, and thrilled to be doing her job.  Nanci has been working with Joe for over 20 years and truly enjoys the LaSpina atmosphere.

Douglas Lake: With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Douglas Lake has experienced the "full spectrum" of the hair industry.  He says there is always something new to learn and continues to expand his knowledge by attending salon classes and hair shows.    Doug has a great talent for color, including multi-dimensional and corrective color, as well as up-dos and brow waxing.  “The people who sit in my chair make my day,” says Douglas “and making them smile before they walk out the door is my biggest goal.”
 

Cynthia Mentzer: With over 30 years of experience in the salon industry, Cynthia Mentzer not only has experience, but she continues to learn new techniques and styles.  She prides herself on staying on top of the industry and has a passion for color and extensions.   “LaSpina has the right kind of energy,” says Cynthia, “it’s very warm and welcoming…and a great place to work.”
 

Danielle Sykes: Danielle has been a hair stylist for over 7 years and is passionate about cutting and coloring.  Danielle continues to develop her skills by attending continuing education classes and hair shows. “There is always something new and exciting to learn.”
